You use that option with Cisco Unified Presence, to allow the CUPS server to monitor thata line´s status

we have a CUCM 7 running in our Lab and are playing around with it. We found a field User Associated with Line under the Directory Number Configuration. Here I can associate end users to the directory number.
Does anybody know whats the benefit if I associate the enduser here?
I allready have associated the user on the Phone Configuration / Owner User ID
