Xmedius, Anyone...

Anyone used the Xmedius product from Sagem-Interstar in their VoIP environment? Looking for comments - good or bad.

Thank You...

I used to work for a CLEC (which had a VoIP transport core) that did.
It works incredibly well; it supports T.38 nicely, and is very
resilient, stable and feature-complete.

One of my favourite things about it is the bewildering array of
document formats it supports as inputs and automatically converts to fax.

Huge thing with these guys is their support. Smaller company but INCREDIBLY
responsive. I'd compare their support to, say, RightFax (Cisco Fax). It's
the equivalent of comparing Nortel Support to TAC.

Great product. I have not used the AXP module that fits on the router but
have used their server based systems.

Re: Xmedius, Anyone... [In reply to]

have had it for about 3 years. have not upgraded to the new version yet,
but am planning to soon.

has worked pretty flawlessly.

have it on a VM currently without issues.

it just does what it's supposed to.

Wish I could get rid of the faxes around here...... but I think that will be
another generation of workers before I can get rid of them. :-s

Re: Xmedius, Anyone... [In reply to]

There's an expanded capabilities version of that module coming out.

If you have access to the mysupportcommunity web site for Cisco (think
that's the name) it has a lot of info on the PBET that occurred just last
week (release of info on UC 8.X and the hardware that interacts with it
(newer series of phones, X900 series ISRs, etc).

Re: Xmedius, Anyone... [In reply to]

The AXP is going to be carried over to the SRE modules for the G2
routers. If you're not familiar with them, it's worth the read on
cisco.com, cool little modules.
