Unity Connection Problem

We are running Cisco Unity Connection version: 7.1.2.20000-140.

If I call x6205 directly it goes to the voice mailbox as it should.

However, x6204 after busy or no answer is set in Call Manager to go to
x6205.
This happens correctly, but it goes directly to beep without hearing the
greeting.

There must be a setting to say if x6204 bounces to x6205 it should go
directly to beep if no one answers. I cannot find it anywhere.

Any ideas?

Re: Unity Connection Problem [In reply to]

It's likely the busy greeting is set to blank.

Re: Unity Connection Problem [In reply to]

I guess I'm not understanding the problem. From your comments below, you mention "x6204 after busy or no answer is set in Call Manager to go to x6205. This happens correctly, but it goes directly to beep without hearing the greeting" made me think that you dial x6204 and it goes to x6205 correctly when x6204 is busy/noans.

Maybe you can lay it out in a bit more detail for us.

Re: Unity Connection Problem [In reply to]

If someone calls x6204 after 5 rings it bounces to x6205. x6205 rings 3
times and then it goes to the voice mail beep. The greeting is not playing.

However, if I call x6205 directly it rings 3 times then the greeting plays.

Re: Unity Connection Problem [In reply to]

In Unity Connection, with the call flow you describe, the call will be answered by x6204's voice mail box.

So I would check the standard greeting for x6204.

If there is no x6204 voice mail box, and x6204 is not an alternate extension in another voice mail box, then it will be answered by the opening greeting. (Depending on your routing rules)

So I would then check the standard greeting of the opening greeting.

If x6204 is an alternate extension of another voice mail box, I would check that vm box standard greeting. (You'll need to use CUDLI to search for alternate extensions. :( )

If x6204 is an alternate extension for x6205, well, then, I'm stumped.

Re: Unity Connection Problem [In reply to]

You can try setting this parameter. It might allow you to send calls to the last number in the forwarding path.

System Settings > Advanced > Conversations > Use Last (Rather than First) Redirecting Number for Routing Incoming Call

Use Last (Rather than First) Redirecting Number for Routing Incoming Call

When this check box is checked, Cisco Unity Connection uses the last redirecting number for routing incoming calls.

Default setting: Check box not checked.
