Attendant Console on CUCM 7.1.2 after upgrade from CCM 4.1.3

My attendant console clients are unable to gain call control of their phones
after an upgrade from CCM 4.1.3 to CUCM 7.1.2.

Can anyone point me in the right troubleshooting direction? I know the ac
user should have no controlled devices, but it seems like that is the
problem.

Thanks,

-C

Did you re-install the new AC client on their PCs? New versions of CUCM
bring new versions of AC. Also, make sure CTIManager and AC Server are
both running on the appropriate nodes.

Yes and Yes. I have both AC Server and CTI Manager running on all CUCM's.

Did you configure AC in CCMAdmin (upgrade doesn't configure it) and
re-install theAC software using the 6x AC client ? (Remember 7x doesn't
have any AC)

I used DMA to upgrade from CCM 4.1.3 and do have AC on 7.1.2. I downloaded
the new plugin from CUCM and loaded it on the PC's. It comes up and allows
users to login, but it cannot gain call control of the phones, so it is only
good for directory lookup, which my attendants are not happy about right
now.

from what I recall, every password needs to be reset after 4.1 to 7.x upgrade. these are not retained after an upgrade. i think this is what happened hear as Marcelo suggests.

Doesn't the password have to be 12345?

This is from the CUCM 7.1(2) Features and Services Guide:

Step 1 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifChoose User
Management > Application User.

The Find and List Application Users window displays.

Step 2 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifClick Add New.

The Application User Configuration window displays.

Step 3 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifTo create the
attendant console application user, enter the user ID, ac, in the User ID
field.

Step 4 http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifIn the Password
field, enter a password such as 12345.

The ACServer will pull the password for the AC user from the database
before starting up, from what I recall. As long as it has a
password, any password should do.

You should see CTI ProviderOpen failures in your application event log
correlating to the AC user if that was the problem.
