Max-age in 0.6.1 - Isn't she pretty :)

Hi,

I would like to thank ADF for creating this feature :) Thank you!

As people reading this list noticed I need the two extremes. For XML/XSL a
version that is *not* cached ever. And for other projects files should be
cached.

Today we have implemented max-age on i.fok.nl (Static webserver of a big
Dutch internet community) amount of request decreased significantly, and
as long as a user doesn't press 'Refresh', no request is done on the
static content. Cherokee will respond with a nice 304 anyway, but still,
30 requests are 30 requests.

So we are running the 0.6 branch now.

Stefan

ps. I never saw that the mime file had even an XML/XSL comment ;) that
made me smile ;)

+1 :-)

BTW, I'm currently debugging the MIME support in trunk. It will be
fixed with the next commit (which it gonna be quite big). I will send
another mail explaining what the improvements are.

Hi Stefan,

I have just committed a new QA test to ensure that Max-age works on
trunk and that we don't cause any other regression.

Revision r1376 already includes it. Please, let me know whether it
works for you now.

Cheers!

So I should ignore the 5-7 weeks? ;) Will give it a shot soon. Probably
not in production, but the beta site will get it.

There are still 'a couple' of changes I wanted to make in trunk; right
after which, if we have performed enough testing, I will release 0.7.0
as the stable version.
