rrd_tools error when invoking cherokee-admin

On a fresh install of karmic and cherokee, I get this:

volt [at] Ubuntu-910-karmic-64-minima ~ # cherokee-admin

Login:
User: admin
One-time Password: 2KECVuKCYcIO4ih7

Web Interface:
URL: http://127.0.0.1:9090/

[03/02/2010 14:42:45.902] (error) rrd_tools.c:120 - Could not find the
rrdtool binary.
Cherokee Web Server 0.99.42 (Jan 28 2010): Listening on port
127.0.0.1:9090, TLS
disabled, IPv6 disabled, using epoll, 4096 fds system limit, max. 2041
connections, caching I/O, single thread

Is this something I should be worried about?

Thanks

Is it possible that the maintainer of Ubuntu either disables rrd when it
is not installed or writes some post install notice?

Thats for the traffic graphs
If you want the graphs install the package libcherokee-mod-rrd

Saludos

It would be a good idea to put libcherokee-mod-rrd as dependency if you
keep traffic graphs enabled by default.

Cherokee isn't very verbose when something bad happens (today I had a
mistake in a regex for a header check and the server refused to start,
and cherokee-admin didn't help at all).

Thanks. I installed the lib. I have no errors in the commandline.
There is another problem though. I added a custom path for the RRD
databse but it seems to be ignored and it wants to put the databse
here:

/var/lib/cherokee

07/02/2010 19:12:26.766] (error) handler_render_rrd.c:115 - RRDtool
replied an error message: ERROR: opening '/var/lib/cherokee/graphs/
server.rrd': No such file or directory

Any thing else I have to do?

Do not hesitate to log a bug whenever you hit one of those issues. That will be the only way in which we can be aware of them.

http://bugs.cherokee-project.com/

The more bugs you guys log, the better server we'll get.

Done:

http://code.google.com/p/cherokee/issues/detail?id=732

I guess cherokee complains on stderr or the like and cherokee-admin
could get that complaint and put it on a fancy div in the web interface.

Regards.

I have just tested it, but it seems to work at this end. I set a custom “RRD Database directory”: General ➠ Network ➠ Information Collector. The directory was empty, so when cherokee-admin started it complain about the missing files, but that's the expected behavior:

[08/02/2010 13:17:15.786] (error) handler_render_rrd.c:115 - RRDtool replied an error message: ERROR: opening '/tmp/rrd/server.rrd': No such file or directory

/tmp/rrd was the directory as set for the test.
