Install problems on Ubuntu Intrepid

I cant get cherokee to start:

27/01/2010 09:53:46.154] (error) plugin_loader.c:194 - Something just
happened while opening a plug-in file
[27/01/2010 09:53:46.154] (error) plugin_loader.c:362 - Could not open
the 'server_info' module
main_admin.c:358 - Could not initialize the server
root [at] tandor:~# cherokee
[27/01/2010 09:53:51.020] (error) icons.c:183 - Duped suffix (case
insensitive) 'z', pointing to 'package.png'
[27/01/2010 09:53:51.020] (error) source_interpreter.c:341 - Could not
find interpreter 'php-cgi -b 1234'
Couldn't read the config file: /etc/cherokee/cherokee.conf

I installed Cherokee via aptitude using the entries from the cherokee
homepage (launchpad). I intend to use Python only for my web
development, that's the reason why I did not install PHP.

Launch cherokee-admin then remove the php information source

In the icons remove the z extension in the package.png

Thanks Leonel, but I could not get the cherokee-admin to start either,
same error. Anything that I did wrong?

What version are you trying?

This might seem a bit odd... but in order to precisely point which
point of Cherokee packaging you are using (as we are living a
packaging system switch in Debian, and many details are yet to be
ironed out, specially for integrating on different versions of
Ubuntu), please send us the result of:

$ zcat /usr/share/doc/cherokee/changelog.Debian.gz | head -20

Hello

Can you do a clean install by removing the current cherokee and backing up
your cherokee.conf and start from a fresh install ?

hello again.

Ubuntu Intrepid was released on october 2008 and it's not an LTS release

The EOL for intrepid is on april 2010, so after that no more Ubuntu
updates and there won't be more cherokee packages for intrepid.

I suggest you to upgrade to Karmic so the transation for the next Ubuntu
LTS Lucid to be released on april 2010 will be more easy
