Lots of variables - RAM, bus, other > activity on board, etc. With two extra lines in Cherokee and on an 800MHz board (Epia-SP) I am able to increase SSL trafic from 3,56M/s to 5,74 MB/s. I have a 1.2GHz board here aswell, and everything is now inside a very nice NFS root, so I can swap and test it easily. On a 100Mbit nic 5.74 MB/s is not that bad; 9,14M/s is the average https speed. Via Rhine II might not be the best offloaded NIC too, so maybe with an e1000 or a nice 3com low profile this can be even increased more.
