kqueue not working on FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE with 0.99.19

I'm running the latest version of cherokee, 0.99.19, on FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE,
and when starting up cherokee, it chooses the poll method instead of kqueue.
# cherokee
Cherokee Web Server 0.99.19 (Jun 28 2009): Listening on port ALL:8080, TLS
disabled, IPv6 enabled, using poll, 11095 fds system limit, max. 5541
connections, caching I/O, 10 threads, 554 connections per thread, standard
scheduling policy

and the compiled options:

# cherokee -i
Compilation
Version: 0.99.19
Compiled on: Jun 28 2009 13:07:19
Arguments to configure: '--enable-trace'

Installation
Deps dir: /usr/local/share/cherokee/deps
Data dir: /usr/local/share/cherokee
Icons dir: /usr/local/share/cherokee/icons
Themes dir: /usr/local/share/cherokee/themes
Plug-in dir: /usr/local/lib/cherokee

Plug-ins
Built-in:

Support
IPv6: yes
Pthreads: yes
Tracing: yes
sendfile(): yes
syslog(): yes
Polling methods: select poll kqueue

Any idea why it is not choosing kqueue? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks
