AFAIK, RoR projects can be deployed using either:

• dispatcher.fcgi
• Mongrel
• Thin
• Rack
• Passenger

The current RoR wizard only supports the first one. We have to check
whether additional deployment methods should be supported as well.

I contacted the developers of Passenger a while ago and there is currently
no way to
make it run with Cherokee. The other approaces remain to be seen.

It's supposed to be the new hotness. Not that I would know with my
non-existent Rails
knowledge.

r3889 better handles the fcgi dispatcher and includes a proxying setup as
default
(the http output of Rails will depend on the installed gems).

Unicorn is still left out (it doesn't behave like the other alternatives,
Thin/Mongrel/etc), but it would be trivial to add support if it did.

Could any of you test it out and comment back?

For the record:

RoR serves a static file by default. So when you access the project to
check whether
or not it's working, you aren't actually executing any Ruby code - as you
could have
expected.

There is an URL available for this purpose. The index page loads it
dynamically (on
clicking a link):

/rails/info/properties

That'd be the best and easiest way to check a deployment worked.
