What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. try to set up pam
2. let the user sign in
3. get no error what so ever on the console, except the user can't login

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An error pam wasn't set up for cherokee.

Add to the documentation that a user should have a configuration for
'cherokee'.

Currently, modules_validators_pam.html contains this: "Requires a valid
user and
password system pair to access the protected directory. It will be
available for all
local users, unless a restriction list is provided."

Am I missing something? Do you think another section would be more
appropriate for
the note?

You need to have a /etc/pam.d/cherokee

Ah, ok. Good point. I'm adding it right now. r3745.
trunk/Makefile.am:135 already takes care of this, but there's never enough
info to
help troubleshoot these errors.
