delete a contributor type

If I delete a contributor type, will that also delete all of the
contributors that are in only that type? If not, does that mean that,
at some point in the future, if I reactivated that contributor type
in Postgres, then all of those contributors would be immediately
available again? We have already deleted all of the stories with
which any of those contributors were associated. Thanks.

It should not, no.

They should always be available. You just wouldn't be able to create
new ones while it was deleted.
