There really should be support for *both* UUID and story_id searches. The user interface shows both, but is inconsistent (dashboards show story_id with UUID in a tooltip, story profiles are the opposite).
UUID may be better for programmatic access, but normal humans tend to prefer smaller, simpler tokens, especially in support situations where they are reading something over the phone or pasting into an email.
