I'm with you up to #3. I think that if there's just one category, it should
just be filled into the text field. If the field gets the focus, *then* the
dropdown should work as you describe, where it drops down with the one option
selected. Tabbing out of that field should leave it filled in.

Thanks for the summary. I'll likely change the media profile stuff before 2.0
drops so that it's consistent with story. Template too, I guess. The rest can
be done later.

I guess I didn't explain what I meant very well. I'm not really that fussed
whether it's a text entry field or a dropdown when there's only one entry. As
long as it's a form widget of some kind (an unexpanded dropdown box looks
similar to a text field) . It's when this changes to a piece of plain text
(because it's the only option) where users expect it to look like a form entry
field of some kind that has caused confusion in the past.

Hope that makes some kind of sense.
