VLC and qt47 problem

VLC and qt47 problem

Hi,

I have installed VLC 1.1.10 by repository. When I type the comman vlc -vvv I
obtained the following error

*main interface error: option qt-volume-complete does not exist
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface debug: cannot open directory
/home/mscano/.local/share/vlc/skins2
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface debug: cannot open directory share/skins2
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface debug: found skin
/usr/share/vlc/skins2/default.vlt
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface debug: requested skins
/usr/share/vlc/skins2/default.vlt is accessible
[0x9bfdb54] main generic debug: looking for dialogs provider module: 0
candidates
[0x9bfdb54] main generic debug: no dialogs provider module matched "any"
[0x9bfdb54] main generic debug: TIMER module_need() : 0.575 ms - Total 0.575
ms / 1 intvls (Avg 0.575 ms)
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface error: no suitable dialogs provider found
(hint: compile the qt4 plugin, and make sure it is loaded properly)
[0x9be776c] skins2 interface error: cannot instanciate qt4 dialogs provider
[0x9be776c] main interface debug: using interface module "skins2"
[0x9be776c] main interface debug: TIMER module_need() : 52.046 ms - Total
52.046 ms / 1 intvls (Avg 52.046 ms)

[0x9b3c914] main libvlc error: interface "default" initialization failed*

and does not show any GUI.
Also I have tried to install qt47 by testing repository, but the problem it
is the same.
How do I fix this problem?

Where are you running vlc? Fedora, rhel?

It is working for me on F14.

You can try deleting ~/.config/vlc

and calling vlc again ...

Hi Paulo,

I am running vlc on CentOS 5.
I have deleted ~/.config/vlc but I have obtained the same errors.

There is a bug report at http://bugzilla.atrpms.net/show_bug.cgi?id=1630

The reporter was able to use vlc locally, but not remotely. Would you
like to carry on the discussion there?
