Of course I found a solution as soon as I pressed send :-)
It seems that video4linux-kmdl-2.6.18-194.8.1.el5.centos.plus-20100401-94.el5.i686.rpm
contains the ivtv modules, so I installed the corresponding kernel and
everything is now working.
But video4linux-kmdl-2.6.18-194.26.1.el5.centos.plus-20100702-96.el5.i686.rpm
does not include it. Has it been moved somewhere else, or is this a
faulty package?
