This is the extra info I got from the ffmpeg output... didn't notice it before (without the -vpre default): [libx264 @ 0x831c050]broken ffmpeg default settings detected [libx264 @ 0x831c050]use an encoding preset (vpre) I wonder if this is actually a bug in libx264. Shouldn't it use some default when detecting "broken" default settings? Maybe I should report upstream to both (ffmpeg and libx264)?
