libsndfile1 = 1.0.16-8.at is needed by libsndfile-devel-1.0.16-8.RHL5.i386

Hi,

I am building a lot of rpm's from the atrpms repo myzelf on a couple
of fresh CentOS 5.4 machines. I meant them all to be the same, but
apparently they aren't.

Now on both machines I can build libsndfile, and on one machine
I can install the resulting rpms, but on the other one I get
the above error message.

What did I do wrong? It must have something to do with the
atrpms rpm-config macros, but I can't find the problem.

Thanks,
Ron

No, these macros are needed only for building things, not installing
them.

Since the same command works on one and not the other, it means that
on the one system libsndfile1 is installed, while on the other not.

Axel,

I don't think so. Look at the error message. libsndfile-devel
requires libsndfile1 = 1.0.16-8.at . See the 'at' at the end?

The libsndfile-devel rpm that I generate on one system requires
that, the other one doesn't.

I see, I thought you were building on one system and distribution to
others (which I would recommend to do actually, but that is another
story).

So obviously there is a discrepancy in you build environments on the
two systems, and I also think you are mixng thw two builds with
different naming schemes. Please show what the actual package names
are and how you try to install the packages (yum, repoqueries etc).
