Torque / Maui

Hello,

Any chance Torque can be updated?
Version in repo is 2.0, current stable version is 2.3.6.

Also, would it be possible to add Maui to the repository?

Regards,

Seán

For which distribution? I think Fedora already carries torque by now.

Both need an active maintainer. Want to become one?

Sorry - forgot to mention that, CentOS 5.

Re: Torque / Maui [In reply to]

Hi, I'm the torque maintainer in fedora.

I'm going to do fedora-epel build of torque as soon as we get a new release.

Btw, I'm only doing 2.1.x releases in fedora because that is the most stable
release. 2.3.x is a mess. Feel free to do 2.3.x releases in atrpms.

Also btw, maui's license doesn't allow redistribution.

I wasn't aware of stability issues in 2.3, thanks for the heads up. The
2.1 release is fine then, and if your going to put it in EPEL, that
suits me, no need to make work for myself.

Also hadn't realised this - had seen RPMs of it around the place, of
course on inspection of the LICENSE file I see that only academic or
government organisations are allowed to redistribute it.

That's not quite the same as what's said on the maui web page
http://www.clusterresources.com/products/maui-cluster-scheduler.php
which says:

> The software license allows end-user organizations to freely use, support, modify, and distribute the code for non-commercial purposes

So while ATrpms is not-for-profit so (I'd guess it's fair to say)
non-commercial, it's not an end-user organisation, nor can it be sure
its users are non-commercial, so it can't redistribute it.

Cheers,

John.
