ffmpeg problem in CentOS 5

I routinely use ffmpeg -i to identify the main audio stream in dvb-t
recordings and for general diagnostics. After an update today this fails.

$ ffmpeg -i 13866_20081121080900.mpg
ffmpeg: relocation error: /usr/lib/libavdevice.so.52: symbol
snd_pcm_htimestamp, version ALSA_0.9 not defined in file libasound.so.2
with link time reference

I'm using alsa-lib, libasound2 version 1.0.15-33

The builds are against RHEL5 packages. Maybe the symbols will appear
in CentOS 5.3.

Thanks for the reply, Axel. At one stage I wondered if I was only seeing
this because I hadn't rebooted or done something equivalent after
installing, but it survived a reboot so I have reverted to the previous
version of ffmpeg on the CentOS box. In FC10 the new version looks fine.
