If so, how can I fix it? Sorry for the late reply, I was offline for a week. You are probably seeing the notorious rpm bug. Fix your database according to http://rpm.org/hintskinks/repairdb/ E.g. rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db* rpm --rebuilddb (don't get frightened by any "error" messages) then check doublicate packages with apt-get check. Reinstall them with apt-get --reinstall install ...
