The end effect is a randomly chosen kernel. Therefore try to install kernels and kmlds explicitly, e.g. apt-get install saa7134-kmdl-2.4.20-30_37.rh9.at (which would install the "normal" kmdl and the matching kernel) > The RH9 customization guide says that bigmem is appropriate for systems > with more than 4 Gb of memory.
