Please use the list(s)! You are not the only one with this issue and we're not the only ones that can help. The latest kernel patches in RHEL5's kernel broke alsa. Probably not a big thing, but someone needs to either take the time and patch up alsa or at least report to alsa upstream, so the next alsa (pre)release gets a workaround (the breakage is in the kernel rpm, not alsa, but the work still need to be done on alsa's side as the kernel is untouchable). > Looking on http://atrpms.net/dist/el5/alsa-driver I still do not see > corresponding rpm. > Perhaps not to take your time, please, be so kind and send me rpm src file > of alsa-kmdl-1.0.15-63.el5. It is on the same web page you mentioned above. > I can make true rpm via rpmbuild... Use --define "kmdl_userland 0" when calling rpmbuild > Thank you very much in advance. If you find a patch I'll thank you twice as much :) Also note that the latest kernel rpm has an updated alsa which for many people made it unneccessary to use alsa-kmdls on RHEL5. Of course there are many who still need it for the differences to 1.0.15. -- Axel.Thimm at ATrpms.net
