AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Yeah, they're SOOOOOO good at PC Week that they figure they don't NEED
feedback... Their frigging email DOES NOT WORK!

Not only have I found three or four different addresses on the web and in
print that supposedly all point to PC Week, but NONE of them WORK!

pcweek [at] zd (from PC Week mag)
pcwonline [at] zdnet (from www.zdnet.com)
pcweek [at] zdnet (from www.zdnet.com)
*@zd.com

ARGH!

I'll keep trying to get this letter to them somehow... Does anyone know
ANY other addresses to try?

Does anyone else think it is a good idea to put a copy of this letter on
www.apache.org?

We've got an Apache-in-the-News page which points to the PC Week article
so it would be the perfect place to add a "here is the Apache Groups
response to this article" link.

+1. I at least wnat *SOME* people to see this thing...we put so
much work into it and all. 8)

If I can't get satisfaction from their service provider by 9AM
EST, I'm calling their main offices. I bet if Ziff-Davis finds out their
email is screwed (and they didn't know it beforehand) they'll be peeved
enough to do something about it. Or something. 8)

If we decide to put it on the site we can also make a mention of it in
todays Apache Week (due out in a few hours) so it can be seen by many
thousands of users :)

Does anyone have any objections to letting Apache users see the groups
response?

On second thought, I'm recanting my +1 to put the ZD letter on the
site, and making it a -1.

Also, if we normally send something via postal mail, is there
someone who normally takes care of that? Or is that something I could
take care of as well? Just curious, since I've never dealt with this kind
of thing in here before...

Thanks,
Jason

Well, at the risk of sounding too organized, it would be fairly
simple to put together a Word document template or some such that would
have an "official" look to it for just these sorts of situations where the
AG would like to send a letter to someone.

I'm not trying to sound like an office nazi...really! I'm just
curious as to how we've done it in the past and if this is desirable for
the present and future...

Re: AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! [In reply to]

I would support this approach. I don't think that the letter is
written in such a way to be a public information. Not to mention
that I would prefer not to put yet another webpage out there for
some robot to steal my email address off of. (not that it could be
any worse than it is)

A press release would be more appropriate for public consumption. A
page describing tuning for benchmarks would be even better. A page
with some benchmark results would be the tits.
