Member List

I have thrown together a form at http://www.hyperreal/httpd/add_member.html
which should simplify the addition of member information. Please stop by
and add yours if you have not already mailed me your information.

In the process of creating and debugging this form, I discovered what
appears to be a bug in the 1.1b1 Netscape beta. It seems that the browser
is truncating CGI input at 199 chars, or at least something less than the
total. This form works fine in other browsers.

Thanks

Perhaps there's a bug in MacWeb 1.00A3.2, or the script, as I just tried
the form, and got an "unsafe char in ..." error when I tried to submit
the form... nothing weird (that I could see) in any field I was submitting.

(oh yeah, the URL needs a ".com" in the hostname part.)

Re: Member List [In reply to]

Perhaps we need to add this form to the test suite? I put this
up last night, and it seems that everyone that has tried to use
it has received and error something like the one below. I put
the same form on my home machine, no problem with any browser,
including Netscape 1.1b1 which fails consistently on hyperreal.
Interesting to note that an older Mosaic that I have, had no
problems with this script running on hyperreal at what I would
guess was peak usage for that machine. Ideas?

Error encountered while processing form data:

error reading form data [expected 136 chars, got 43]

There are obviously more important things to do on this list
than create a "member list" (which I am beginning to question),
but these, what appear to be server failures, interest me.

Well, http://hyperreal.com/ and http://hyperreal.com:8000/ point to the
same place, the former running stock NCSA - if you get an error with the
first it probably isn't with the server.
