unzipped the community download. ftp install.cgi in ascii mode to my cgi folder (after correcting the first line for path to perl) and chmod 755. ftp install.dat to same folder in binary mode. tried to run from browser and got error 500. looked at log - premature end of script header. deleted and repeated process several times. same error each time. what am i missing?

Mmm, sounds like you are doing everything right. What happens if you run the install.cgi script from Telnet/SSH?
