error when adding category or link from admin area
Ok, so I just installed Links2.x -- I thought all was going
well, I was able to access the admin.cgi with no heinous
Internal Server Errors popping up.

I went to Add Category and I got the following:

fatal error: Undefined subroutine &main::html_record_form called at /home/websites/www.martinstlucie.com/cgi-bin/links/admin/admin_html.pl line 347.

What is causing this? I get a similar error when I try to
add a link.

I'm hosting w/ burlee.com, if that makes a difference.

Many thanks!

LadyT

Try CHMODing all of the files in the /data/ to 666. That might do it :)

Hope it works

The error is NOT a permission problem, youradds.

It is related to not finding db_utils.pl file because LadyT has not properly configured the links.cfg file.

LadyT, look in your links.cfg and make sure that you have the correct ABSOLUTE path to the $db_script_path.

I checked my paths, called my host company, and the path
is correct (/home/websites/www.martinstlucie.com/cgi-bin/admin).

I have always been able to install just about any script
out there, but this one is kicking my butt.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

LadyT

I dont know if this will help you, and I suppose it depends on where it is your getting the error, ie, is it when you hit the button to add the category/link, or after you have typed it all in, and clicked ok.
If it is the latter, then (and I think this is the problem I had)you need to add a file into your admin/data directory called links.db.bak For some reason this isnt provided with Links and you have to make it yourself. easy really, save a blank notepad as links.db.bak using the all files option. Upload it to your data directory and chmod to 666 .
If I am way off the mark then I hope you get the right answer soon.
