nph-build.cgi crashes as "Terminated"
Hello,

I am running Links 2.0 on a Unix machine (hosted). I run nph-build.cgi at the command line via telnet. I have periodically had problems where it will termintate at some point in the process. I returns the word "Terminate".

I used to be able to do it again and eventually it would reach the end properly. Now it always fails with "Terminate". I have not changed hosts or done anything else on the service. I do use a dialup connection which is slow... but it worked previously with dial up.

Any assistance or recommendation would be appreciated... if I need to post relevant code here... let me know.

Thanks.

Regards,
Andrew Menkart

Does it do it at regular intervals? i.e 60 seconds. Could just be the script timing out, which means there is not a lot you can do about it.

Andy,

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried it a few more times and it crashes at random intervals, but seems to be less than 60 seconds... usually 30 - 45 seconds.

I don't know what causes "script timing out"... is that a server issue? Faster connection might help...?

Thanks much.
Regards,
Andrew

I thought I would post the solution here in case anyone else has the same problem...

The proble was apparently caused because I had exceeded the storage allotment on the drive on the server at my web host. Once I deleted and moved enough the nph-build.cgi ran fine to completion.

Thanks.
