WOuld it be possible to have a vertical listing of categories on the home page?

I'm thinking about using Links as a Address Book and Would like to have the home page have the Letters of the alphabet (last names) as the "categories".

i.e.:
A - B - C - D - E - F - G - H etc...

Or would thins be more the job for DBMan?
