Hello all,

Some of you know me around thess boards and some of you don't.

I watch these boards everyday and I try to learn and figure stuff out. Well I am really excited about Links 2.0 and I believe it is going to be the bomb! This script has alot of potential.

I also watch everyone and their Mom asking for mods for this or that. And they are here, passed by with everyones elses post and sort of lost. If you dig long enough you will find it.

I also do understand that I believe Alex is planning on having a part of his site for this purpose.

What I want to do is from the get go, is start a list of mod's. What it will be is a Forum just like this, for POSTING only. There will be no discussion, at least initially. What I want to do is offer a place for all those making the mod's a place to post them without fear of them being lost down on the list.

I also want people to understand I am not doing this to try and take peoples ideas, traffic or profit. This page will not be made to generate myself any gains. I want to offer this to you all as a way to help everyone. I have the servers and the space, so I figure why not.

Maybe this is a good idea, maybe it is not. Give me some feedback. I've seen alot of other scripts out there and I have learned from them that placing the mods in one place makes it easier for everyone. It evens help others that make mods to see others works and maybe even improve upon them.

If Alex feels that this should not be done then I shall not do it, or if you guys think it will be a waste of time I will not do it.

If we kick this thing off, I only hope that all those great Perl Mod boys will post them there for all to see.

Links 2.0 is just out and looks promising, let's not let all those great mods be lost in the piles and piles of posts.

Let me here your opinions, I'm not here to waste your time or mine.

I would like to see this type of site.... it would be very good. People who are new to this forum (like me) would find it very useful.

Well perfect, Ive used your site and your mods. I had heard you werent planning anything but I guess I am wrong!

That is perfect and if you plan to have that up that is exactly what we all need.

I can only encourage people who do make a mod for the new LINKS 2.0 please do post it there.

Yea, I'm just busy working on my own scripts and some custom work. I like the old days when all I had to do was make Links mods and fiddle with the script! Anyway, you can drop by www.groundbreak.com and sign up on my mailing list and I'll let you know when new things pop up with me. I'm thinking of making that mailing list a "perl code snippet of the week/month" list - sound like a neat idea?

I like the idea. There is alot of info that webmasters love to get there hands on.

That is a nifty DOMAIN name you got your hands on there, suprised it wasnt snatched up years ago. hehe

Steve, I have quite a few projects going on actually with Links and some other scripts. I hope that maybe you can be a hand and I may require Mod Services, are you able to at this time?

What if you could just start a FORUM within this category that was for hackers and modifyers to POST ONLY there mods or where they are located, leaving no replys. I mean I know there are posting of mods within this Forum, but DO get lost rather fast when people start asking how to do that or fix it or it doesnt work here or there, so if we had just this forum for placing the modifications, then if someone has a question about one, they came to this forum.

I think it would save a lot of time on everyones part, the people who post it, the ones who look for it and the ones who ask again where one is at that has already been posted. ???

Just my thought, what does everyone think??

And Steve, this idea is not to take away from your site, but rather a place to post the link to your site in and it wont get lost. Make sense?
