Got a question I am pondering and wondering if anyone might have some suggestions for me.
I'm building a links derived modification that will build some stuff the way I have intended but I have one of the mapping details I cant get figured out in my head.
The links to my database are going to be from vendors.
What I want to be able to do is this:
When a vendor is inputting his info I want to have them be able to pull from a drop down menu their Vendor ID as the choice. This will assign an ID number to this. In a second database I will have all the Vendors info to include name, phone, address, etc, oragainzed by this ID.
Now when the pages are built OR a search is performed, in the ways the links are displayed, I do not want that NUMBER that the vendor chose, but the info that that number represents in the other database.
Has anyone done this or know of a way to accomplish this?
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
