Links 2.0 and German characters (Umlaut)

Hi everyone

I have recently installed Links 2.0 but encountered the problem that I cannot use German characters (Umlaut); the German characters are depicted as ä.

I know that this topic has been discussed many times before but unfortunately the website www.nicky.net (where a German "nonenglish" mod" is supposed to be) doesn't exist any more (well, the site still exists but I can't find the mod).

Can anyone help?

Many thanks Leonard. Somehow the problem fixed itself but I don't know how. I've just downloaded the links database to see if the database contains the Umlaute (and it did) and then uploaded the database again, ... and it worked. After building the pages both the links and the description displayed the German Umlaute correctly... Strange.

Anyways, thanks very much for the hint, I can use it for the category names which still don't allow Umlaute.
