Are we gonna have to reinstall everything from scrtach wehn upgrading from current links to links 2.0 ?
please tell me there is a way to upgrade withour reinstalling from scratch please

There should be a upgrade.txt file in the new links 1.2 when it comes out.
But It use full because I think if you upgrade from scratch you aren't going to mess up anything since a lot of mods are already installed in 1.2
and it comes with a new html type feature so i think it should be easyer to install.

I only had a few links and cat., just to test out the upgrading but it looks ok. Your data files will need to changed a bit, Links 1.1 data shows NULL for the stuff that blank(i.e. if you don't enter a desc.) Links 2.0 (not 1.2) shows this as a blank space. So you will need to replace all the NULL's with a blank space, try Text Pad at http://www.textpad.com There are about 6 to 8 different extra dir that will need to be made in the admin dir, alogn with about 20 extra files, and your add.cgi, jump.cgi modify.cgi,links.cfg will need to be replaced with the updated verisons.
You will most likly haft to replace you site_htmp.pl(that is if you dont use the templates) to point to the new 2.0. A few others but it shouldnt take about 30 mins at the most. There may be a few extras im not sure cause I simpley made and exrta blank dir and started over.

There is an Upgrade.txt which outlines the required changes. You can keep your links.db, category.db, and site_html.pl. The process shouldn't take longer then 30 minutes (hopefully).
