Has anyone tried to modify Links into a digital library system with files upload feature. I think that the first mod can be done by combining certain features of the File Manager with Links. The beauty of this system is that Links will be able to index resources on the Net as well as our own documents.
For each entry, the system should be able to upload more than one file, with the ability to select one of the files as default.
One way of managing the files would be to separate the files through subdirectories created by the sytem using the id number. Is there a maximum number of subdirectories that a Unix system can handle?
