'Build changed' mod is ready :-)
Hye friends,

i'm happy, i costs me some hours, but now it's ready in the first version.

THE 'BUILD CHANGED' MOD

What this is? I've talked about this some topics ago. With this mod you could save very much of your time. Cause when a link was added, now you don't need to rebuild all. NO! This script only rebuilds that pages which have changed.

May be someone added a link to 'computer', this script only rebuilds the 'computer' page, the new page, the cool page, the detailed page for the new link and the mainpage.

More information and download: www.ford-network.at/LLinks

*language links is realy growing up. Now i've 3 setup files, 3 site_html.pl files and much other usefull things. :-)*

does it also update the category pages on the way up to the changed page?

meaning if the changed page is at computers/peripherls/mass_storage/zip_drives does each category and subcategory page get updated as well?

Also will it change the homepage and ratings page?

if so...way to go!!

Bogus,
Why would you need 3 'site_html.pl' files?

zelph: NO! I've already found out that i must change this. cause otherwise the category above wouldn't show the right number of hits. Also if you use the multi-cat mod, and you're changing the alt-cats of a link, the link wouldn't be deleted in the alternate categories. Will fix this now...

pasha: 1 file site_html.pl, 2 file cgi_html.pl, 3 file global_html.pl
did you already know why?
site_html.pl have had 56 KB (original more then 70kb), i've know splitted to one file which is specifiy for build all, one file which is for the pages generated by cgi (add, modify, search, ...) and the last is for thoose which is called by both. So i'll always save time with loading the extra files.
I also have now 3 links.pl one for online and one for offline using, and one with the global settings. It's very, very usefull, if you're programming offline. So you doesn't always need to chang the paths to on- and offline setting. note: LLinks automatically loads the right file!
