I agree with you Jack. It seems like they wanted to setup a different backend system, something of their own, and they seem to have done good job with it too. However after having spend hours and hours on both (ours and theirs) website, I still believe that Links SQL is way better solution then their custom developed product.
Also the reason I believe many many many people are using Links SQL is not because they like hotscripts, but because Links SQL does actually cuts down the work by 90% when it comes to creating a directory type website. It just happens that Web Development is one of the popular category, and hence there are hundreds of websites out there competing in the same category.
Today Need Scripts is #1 in the world and hotscripts is #2, but that does not mean we will not have competition in future, it is just part of the game and I am pretty pleased to be having Links SQL script working on my site :)
Again keep up the great work and thanks for creating a wonderful tool like Links SQL.
