Hi,

I have a brand new installation of Glinks (someone installed it for me). Before getting too far, I wanted to change the main folder from /links to /directory. So I changed the build_root_url/path, and the build_static_url/path accordingly. I also moved the /static folder from /links to /directory on my server.

My problem is that now the browse function in admin brings up a 500 error. Also, I can add new categories, but I can't delete categories.

Hi,

If its a fresh install, and no data yet - I would just delete it all, and re-install where you want it working :)

Its not as simple as just renaming folders and changing the build root, as there are a lot more paths involved now, and also js and CSS files, which will mess up with a move.

Thanks Andy for the reinstall.

But I'm still getting an error. I figured out that
a) clicking on the triangle expands the list of categories
b) clicking on the folder is supposed to bring up a browse window (and a list of links if there are any in that category).
(I'm not sure which I was clicking on before!)

However...clicking on the folder is still not bringing up that browse window -- I'm getting a 500 error. And I can't delete categories. And I haven't done anything except browse the categories and add one link. :(

Anyone have any ideas?? (maybe I should submit a support ticket?)

a clarification of what I mean when I say I can't delete categories...I'm clicking on Database, then searching for my category, then clicking the Delete Category button at the bottom. I don't get an error message per se, what I get is "0 record(s) were deleted."

=) I was just about to say the same thing (I think that really, the checkbox should be aligned to the top of the cell, to avoid confusion - as even when you know its there, its still quite hard to find


I still can't see the problem :/

Going into the admin panel - clicking on Browse, and it loads fine.

Then, click on the triangle (or folder), and both work fine :/

Now I've narrowed it down -- admin/browse works for me in IE but not in Firefox. Anyone know of some setting in FireFox that would cause this? Anyone else using FireFox?

My FireFox is up-to-date...I just checked.

Hi,

From communications via email, I've advised uninstalling and re-installing FireFox. Apparently she's been having problems with some other pages/ sites too, so it sounds like it could be a problem in her copy of FireFox. Hopefully that will sort it, as it works perfect in IE and FF for me.

Well, the plot thickens

I have three computers equipped with FireFox, Windows XP, Norton Antivirus installed. The admin>browse error occurs on 2 of them. I've uninstalled and reinstalled FF multiple times, deactivated /removed add-ons, etc., to no avail. So I'm still searching for an answer.

I have narrowed down the source of the error -- the frame that is trying to be loaded is mydomain.com/admin.cgi -- but the correct link is mydomain.com/cgi-bin/links/admin/admin.cgi. I have no clue why or what browser setting would cause the link being loaded in a frame to be altered!!

This only happens (that I know of!) in the admin>browser function. Is there something different about the browser function vs. other admin functions? I'm grasping at straws here.
