I have 1 link in three categories, However on the site it shows i have 3 links, when I only have 1 link in three cats.

Hi,
Where does it show 3 links? On home.html (i.e <%grand_total%> ?)
If so, you could just use a global (called count_total_links):
return $DB->table('Links')->count( { isValidated => 'Yes' } );
}
..and call with: <%count_total_links%>
