How much RAM do I need to run Mod_Perl?
Hi,

How much ram do I need to run mod_perl? My lsql database size is 120mb. I have a dedicated server, 1.7ghz processor. Although the database is actually quite small the index is fairly huge. Does the index need to be loaded into RAM?

I have 512mb of RAM.

Thanks for your advice.

Hi,

512 should be fine. You should make sure you use a proxied setup as described here:

http://perl.apache.org/...abled_Apache_Servers

This reduces considerably the amount of memory mod_perl requires, leaving plenty available for MySQL.

Cheers,

Alex
