[NEW PLUGINS] GalleryManager and GalleryManagerGD v1

Hi,

I thought I would just post these 2 plugins in one thread - as they are both the same, except one uses Image:: Magick, and the other uses GD (and Image::Resize).

Description:

This plugin lets your users upload images via gallery.cgi, for their links. This is aimed more for "Classified" / "Rentals" etc types of sites, where your users want to upload images for their listing. It lets them set a "default" image, which can be shown on the detailed page. It also lets you show ALL the images on the detailed page, in a 3 column table.

Features:

Auto-thumbnailing of images uploaded by users
You can show ALL the links images on the detailed page (in a table), or link them to the gallery_view.cgi script - where they can view the gallery.
Easily customizable
Admin setting, so you can limit the number of images per link allowed
Users can delete image
Users can set any image for their link as the "default" one
You can specify a maximum file size allowed for images.
Uses Lightbox.

Hi,

Version 1.1 is now in the Members Area.

This includes:

1) The option for you to set the maximum size you want of the thumbnail image (i.e 150 x 150)
2) A "Cleanup" function, which re-creates all of the thumbnails for you (in case you want to change the size of the thumbnails, or if some thumbnails are lost/deleted for some reason - and you need to re-create them)

Hi,

Version 1.2 is now available from the Members Area.

This includes the ability to "edit" your images details (not the image itself, but the Description and Title).

Just for information, the "gallery_manage_link.html" file for the version GD is not updated (it misses the edit link).

Whoops, All fixed up (in the new version, same version number though =))

I also found some code at the bottom of the templates, related to my Affiliate plugin (must have slipped in somehow) . I've got rid of that too =)

Hi,

I've just released version 1.3 of GalleryManager.

This version has a new cool Slideshow feature. Once a few people have tested it, and made sure it works fine - then I will roll the new version out for GalleryManagerGD. Its all been tested my end - but if there are any bugs, I don't wanna have to update more than once :D

The use of "error_message" does not seem to work :

...on gallery_manage_link.html or gallery_manage_edit.html.

Hi,

The error messages from GalleryManager? Could do, but it takes a little while to do, as you have to add the install codes, and also change all the error messages in the script. Maybe in the next version Smile

In the mean time, just look through gallery.cgi, gallery_view.cgi and /admin/Plugins/GalleryManager.pm, and translate how you want :)

Yes,

If I can suggest an option. It would be great to convert automatically the characters spaces in the file name. Smile

I'll see what I can do. From memory, when GT::SQL::File actually does the upload, it doesn't have any way of "editing" the name of the file that gets uploaded, so you have to do this manually - and it can be a little tricky :(

Hi,

Version 1.5 for both GalleryManager and GalleryManagerGD are now available from our Members Area.

These both include the following features:

1) All the messages are now held in language.txt - so you can edit them via Build > User Language > GALLERY_
2) It doesn't only accept a-z0-9 charachters now. You can use foreign charachters (such as ê è ë Ï Ì Î ï ì î Ö Ô Ò ö ô ò Ü Û Ù ü û , and a ton more =)) - they now get converted to normal charachters - which stops the issues that existed previously (which is why the limit was in place)

Mick has tested these new versions for me, and as far as he can tell - there are no issues with the new feautures.

Hi,

I've just been alerted to a bug, where when using GetDefaultImage(), it was passing back <%Username%> with the value of the user who actually added the last link found.

To fix this, please update to 1.5.1 (just uploaded it), or in /admin/Plugins/GalleryManager.pm, find:

   delete $image->{ID};

...and add this below it:

Code:
   delete $image->{Username};

That should sort it Smile

Hi Andy,

Installed this plugin for the first time (my other site has direct file upload) and have encountered this problem:

Error: Exception 420: no encode delegate for this image format `/home/consulto/public_html/xxxxxxx.com/amarillas/images/gallery/9/9-800.jpg.tmp' @ constitute.c/WriteImage/11111

Its the Gallery manager. Not the GD. The GD doesnt want to work and get all kinds of errors. (Another plugin of yours works fine with GD)

Any idea why Im getting this error?

Hi Andy,

Image Gallery GD doesnt work at all.
So Im working with Image Gallery,
Jpg or gif dont wok.
It does upload, but it doesnt shrink or resize.
doesnt link to the pic either.

I'm not sure how this bug was never found , but there was a bug in the "view default gallery image" for link.html/detailed.html.

For anyone using the plugin, please open up /Plugins/GalleryManager.pm (or GalleryManagerGD.pm, if you are using that version)... and find:

..change this to:

     return { Image => undef };

I've released version 1.5.2, which fixes this bug up.
