Are PageBuilder pages searched by the default Links search.cgi ?

Or, if not, can things be tweaked so that they are searched?

No, PageBuilder pages are not searched by search.cgi

Making them searchable would require a major modification to the plugin. You'd be better of with a good website search tool.
