Heya all,

I'm looking for a quick and easy way to merge 2 categories. i.e. move all the links from one category into another. Can anyone help? I searched the forums with no luck. Is there a plugin out there that we missed? Thanks in advance.

Couple of questions:

1) Are there sub-categories in them?
2) Are there listings shown in both the categories you are merging?

Andy,

1) Assume there are no subcategories
2) Listings are shown in both right now, but I want to "empty" the one category after the links has been merged (moved) and delete the empty category.

Ok np - well try the attached script (upload to the admin folder, and run via SSH).

Please make a backup of your database first, just in case it doesn't work (I didn't test it, as don't have time )
