Security issues
Hi, I am pleased with the way the DBMan database is now operating on my site - marriedpriests.org I entered a personal userid and password, then logged on with admin and gave the new userid full permissions. I then logged off admin and logged on with the new ID and deleted the user ID admin.
I hope this is the way it is supposed to work.
All the DBMan files are in the cgi-bin/dbman directory with permissions set according to JPDeni's tutorial. Do I need to take any further steps to ensure security of data?
I did have one problem when I was installing. Without thinking, I kept uploading empty password and data files to the web site and so overwrote the userid's, passwords, and data I had already entered so I am wondering if anyone has neat way of backing up the files which are on the web site.
Thanks,
Graham

Wasn't there a mod that did something like that? I remember way back whenI say something in resource area or was it JPDeni's site ??? Oh well, I'm sure if you dig through the resource center or LoisC's unofficail faq area that there is something that'll let you back up your files, I wonder with a little tweeking you could even back up the password db too.

good luck and sorry that I know where they are.

Yes, the FAQ has referenced threads relating to backing up your files.

In the section "Files / Records" subsection "File"

Hope this helps
