My new site
I've just registered a new perl related domain name and am thinking of setting up a website with tutorials and code samples eccetera.

Do you feel there is a space in the "market" for a website like that?

There are plenty of sites offering scripts and custom programming but I don't ever recall seeing tutorials in the same way you do for say, flash and javascript/dhtml.

Perldoc.com covers everything but can sometimes be rather technical for new coders. I think step by step tutorials may be nicer.

Anyway, any comments are welcome.

I'd love it.
Step by step tutorials with full examples beyond the basics would be fantastic. If it works out, you publish it as a book.Cool

http://www.devshed.com have the right idea. They teach you with the idea in mind that you will end up with a working application. Thats where I started learning Perl, and later on PHP. Great site :) If you could come up with something on the same level, or better, then you definatly have something worth creating Smile

Mmm that seems to be more a general site. Mine will be totally perl scpecific.

Yeah that's a decent site. It's quite broad again though covering several technologies/languages and the tutorials seem to be more explanations than walk-throughs with code snippets (or maybe I didn't spend long enough looking).

Indeed, there are some good tutorials out there, but not enough IMO.
