Has anyone tried this -

A friend recommended it to me as an easy way to get started using flash instead of Macromedia.
Any feedback would be most appreciated.

Yeah, I purchased a copy of this a while back (v1.3 I believe). Pretty cool little program (v2 is better .. and easier to use). The great thing is, that its still pretty powerful =)

When you say it's still pretty powerful, does that mean it's not actually flash?
What are some of the differences between Swish and Macromedia?
Will users to my site need any special plugins to view it?

I believe Macromedia Flash is a totally seperate program. Although they both produce the same kind of output (i.e something that can be read by people's browsers) ... they work in totally different ways.

Flash 4 (what are they up to now?) works more on a timeline.

Swish, on the other hand... works on a "functions" (i.e scroll this text here, for xx number of frames ... with this text effect). Although it seems you can still do complicated stuff with Swish .... its nowhere near as good as Macromedia... but hey... you get what you pay for =)


Nope (except the required modules in the browser installed).
