Intranet Portal
Has anyone got any experience with an office intranet portal? Anything decent around? I've been looking on the web for a while and I really can't find any decent ones at all.

Basic functions I'm looking for are: address book, contact management, announcements, threaded discussion, diary.

Thanks

I've never really used one. My college wrote their own one for the school Intranet.

I'm looking for one, too.

I've seen the following one, though I've not used it much. It appears to have everything except the diary feature, but it does have a "notes" feature.

That looks alrite, I must say. The main problem with it though is that it's in PHP. I wanted something to be in Perl ideally so I could understand what's going on and make modifications to the code easily.

But, there aren't any decent Perl ones around. I took a quick look through sourceforge and found one that really really sucks, but that's about it.

The nicest commercial one I've found so far is: http://portal.yahoo.com/

like dogtags suggest php ones seem to be most easily found.

I've looked for perl ones but never found anything that was GPL.

hmmm ... a chance of an idea script?
