What is the maximum length a MySQL Table and Column name can be (out of curiosity), if anyone knows?

I don't have a clue! I would imagine that this would depend on the OS in question, and it's maximum length for file names, maybe.

I think Ian is asking how long a length can a table column name be, not the maximum size.

I think table names can be about 50 characters...if you try any more chars than that it says "Incorrect table name" or something.
