            <description>The paths won&#039;t be the same. Simply saying &amp;quot;its Debian&amp;quot; doesn&#039;t mean we can guess your values ;)

A good way to find your path is through a very simple script.

env.cgi

Code:
#!/usr/bin/perl

use Data::Dumper;
print &amp;quot;Content-Type: text/html \n\n&amp;quot;;
print &amp;quot;&amp;lt;pre&amp;gt;&amp;quot; .Dumper(%ENV) . &amp;quot;&amp;lt;/pre&amp;gt;&amp;quot;;

Then CHMOD to 755, and run from your browser. Look for &amp;quot;path&amp;quot; in the results... should give the answer away

Cheers

            <description>Hi fastfoo,

FileMan DOES support tar.gz archiving.

I use FileMan and .gz archiving myself.

Are you running FileMan under Windows by any chance?

Cheers,

            <description>Hi,

You may be better emailing Gossamer directory (support at gt.net). They may well have a patch, or could do this for you as a custom job. I&#039;m afraid I don&#039;t really work with FileMan as I do all my stuff using real SFTP/Telnet, so have no need for it. Otherwise I may well have come up with a plugin/hack =)

            <description>Hi there

I see that Fileman supports archiving to either Zip, or Tar archives, but not compressing the latter, using Gzip, for example. Are there any plans (or perhaps patches, configuration tips) to enable Gzipping of Tar archives?

The function is named &#039;compress&#039; yet Tar only archives and doesn&#039;t compress! Much software is distributed in Gzipped Tarballs, so it&#039;s somewhat perplexing that this functionality has been omitted.

Thanks

            <description>Hi,

Wrong forum ;) I&#039;ve moved it for you.

Re the error - its not that helpful. I would suggest checking your error logs for the server. If you havn&#039;t added anything into the .htaccess file (which I don&#039;t think you need to on Fileman), it most likely your server giving a screwed up error message)

            <description>Hi all, first time posting in this side of the forum.
I tried Fileman and liked it.
Can it be used as a multiuser cloud system?
Im looking for a small file server / cloud system. Since I need several users all cloud hosting turns out too expensive.

Can FileMan upload and give permisions on folders to just certain people that have accounts?
Some can access a file or folder and some cant?
Not looking for bulltproof, just practical solution.

Also, Im guessing the multiuser has an admin account that can manage and see everything?

Thanks,

I am unfamiliar with the software, so will have to look for the logs and see if I can glean anything from them.

This is for the paid version? If so, it may be worth emailing GT directly (support @ gt.net) ...and they should be able to help you. Afraid I&#039;ve never tried doing that before, so can&#039;t be of much help (I just do it in SSH if I need to )

            <description>OK, i have Fileman v3.0 and I have a zip file and a tar file. I can not get the Uncompress tool to show up anywhere.

The help file states:

After clicking on a compressed file format (.zip, .tar, .tar.gz), you&#039;ll be brought to a screen that gives you the option to uncompress all or selected files.

* Select your option in the dropdown menu and if you wish, type in a directory to uncompress to
* Click &#039;Uncompress&#039; to extract your selected files [/li][/ul]Note: If no directory is chosen, the selected files will be extracted to whatever directory the compressed file resides in.

---

I am not being taken to an screen for uncompressing a file as indicated in the help file. Please give me a clue as to what has gone wrong.

            <description>Hi,

I have a license Multi and I would like to be able to use it on a server.

But, I have a problem. IE8 gives a Javascript error :

Line: 46
Character: 127
Code: 0
URI: http://www.../jquery.jqModal.js

That also seems to cause an error 500 on the server.
If I use the function of compatibility of Internet Explorer.

With IE8, the file is downloaded, but not correctly I obtain:

{&amp;quot;success&amp;quot;:true,&amp;quot;status&amp;quot;:null,&amp;quot;data&amp;quot;:{},&amp;quot;message&amp;quot;:&amp;quot;xxx.jpg was uploaded (0 Bytes)&amp;quot;}

Thanks for your suggestions ! :)

            <description>Hi, just discovered fileman, and how easy it was to set up - cheers !

I have some .mov H264 files that I would like to view via my ipad.

I can browse to them, but instead of them being viewed as raw content, they do not open, nothing actually launches.

If I access them outside of fileman, i.e directly via http://xxx/movie.mov they play.

Presumably this is to do with the content type and the attachment setting in the download.

Is there a way to access them directly in the &#039;raw&#039; ?

Thanks</description>
