World IPv6 Day!

June 8th, 2011 is World IPv6 Day.

Today content providers like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft and of course Gossamer Threads will default their website to run under IPv6 as part of a global test to gauge the readiness of internet providers, webhosts and everyone in between. This is the first major test of IPv6 and we’re excited to play a part!

Greenifying Gossamer

Gossamer Threads doesn’t just provide hosting for the David Suzuki Foundation, we’re also fans of their work. While we’re happy with our green roof and green composting and commuting habits, we’re always open to finding new ways to make GT a more environmentally-friendly company. Keen to hear more ideas, we invited some folks/Gayle from the David Suzuki Foundation to visit and plan out some new ways to make GT greener.

Helping DC Planet Deliver Environmental Education

Destination Conservation is an initiative of Elements Society, an environmental non-profit organization. The DC Planet website provides resources and and presentations to elementary classes across Alberta and British Columbia. Offering those services requires a well-tailored online repository, allowing members to upload and easily find resources: DC Planet turned to Gossamer Threads to develop a new site from the ground-up to help them achieve their goals.
