Blue Sky Footage offers its users a virtual warehouse of a huge variety of high quality stock video footage: over 16 terabytes of it, to be precise. With that in mind, Blue Sky’s business model needs to be able to store and deliver large amounts of content swiftly and securely. We were able to heavily customize their site to streamline and simplify its operations.

Automated Conversion

One of the main features Blue Sky gives their users is the wide range of file formats in which they offer videos: 13 formats and sizes. However, when Blue Sky first started up, all file conversions had to be handled manually: a painstaking and time-wasting process.

To save Blue Sky time better spent on growing their business, Gossamer Threads created a custom script which automatically converts video files into all 13 formats as soon as they are uploaded to their installation of Gossamer Links.

Easy & Secure Checkout

Another area which Blue Sky needed streamlined was the actual sale and delivery of their footage. By extensively modifying our existing Shopping Cart plugin, Gossamer was able to not only give Blue Sky’s customer’s a smooth and secure way to buy video clips, but also a unique and convenient way to access them. Every time a purchase is made on Blue Sky’s site, the user is given a secure FTP login which gives them remote access to their files from any location for up to 14 days.
